Fall Fun...

Lillie and I had the day off of school for Columbus Day and I wanted to take her to do something fun, so we decided to head out to Oil Ranch. Oil Ranch is a working ranch where children can pet animals, milk cows, ride pony's, go through a hay maze and much more. Lillie has enjoyed going out there since she was very little. When you leave the children get to pick out a pumpkin and take one with them. Eric took the day off so we headed out there as a family. We were worried because this time of year in Houston it rains constantly. It has been raining on and off for several days so we were afraid it was going to be too muddy. It turned out to be a perfect day! It was VERY humid which is normal for this area, but there were very few children out at the ranch so we didn't have to wait in line for anything which was really nice!
When we first arrived I had Lillie sit in the pumpkins to take a picture. I love Fall time and I really like these pictures with her surrounded by the pumpkins. They have scarecrows and hay trailers all over the property so it was fun to get to take some pictures!

Here is Lillie riding around on the pony. She always has a great time being around the animals!

There is an area called Indian Village at the ranch, in the area there is this sand bag swing set. This was Lillie's first time to ride it but it was fun. All under the bags was water so we had to be careful getting on and off. Eric ran around pulling the swings. It's a lot of work for the parents but the children LOVE it!

This is one of the two petting areas they have. There are bunnies, turkeys, cows, chickens, sheep and goats. Lillie just loves the animals and isn't afraid of any of them. She gets right in there, gets the food, and heads for the animals. At this particular petting area the lady working said we could pick up the chickens. The challenge was on! Lillie and I ran after those chickens until I finally caught one. Lillie had no problem after that getting them herself! They are actually really calm once you are holding them. This is one of the unfortunate ones that we caught! HA! We had a great time spending the day as a family and letting Lillie enjoy the outdoors and animals. I am thankful for days like this when I get to enjoy my husband and little girl!

Looks like so much fun! We are hoping to make it to our local pumpkin patch for a hay ride this week as well. It has been cold and two out of three little girls have runny noses, so we keep putting it off. Your ranch looks like a great place for kids!
