Lillie's five!

The kids about to make their pizza's! Aren't the hats cute!

Lillie after decorating her cupcake

Lillie's ADORABLE birthday cake that my mother in law made. She actually made two of these!

Lillie on her birthday at school. Eric and I took in cupcakes for her that day.

Well I am a little late but my little girl turned FIVE on April 1st! We had a cooking party which was a hit and there were a LOT of people who came! We had more then 22 children and then include least one parent with each of those children. What was I thinking? BUT we had a wonderful time and the kids enjoyed making their own pizza, decorating a cupcake, and making candy sushi. We also decorated our own aprons before beginning to bake. It was a huge success and I couldn't have done it without my friend Chandel that ran the party! It seemed everyone had a great time and the kids left with very full little tummies!

We WON!

I just wanted to thank everyone who went onto the web site and voted for Lillie Jo! I was so excited to see all of the names of people who took the time to vote. If you are in the Houston area Laura really is a great photographer and she is wonderful with children, especially busy children! I Do recommend her - we hire a person to take pictures every year for Christmas cards and just love the ones we have gotten! It brings back so many memories for that year! Thanks again for your help! Check out the winning post if you get a minute! http://www.laurawatsonphotography.com/blog/

Does Anyone's Else's 4 Year Old Sleep Like This?

Lillie was given this pillow by her Aunt Cindy for Christmas. I think it says it all when you see the next picture.

Please tell me others out there have four year old's that sleep like they are the Queen of everything. This is so Lillie that Eric and I just started cracking up when we went in and saw her. She has a funny little personality. Should I be worried about what is to come in the teenage years???? :)

VOTE

OK friends and family I need your help! The photographer that we used this year for our family Christmas photos is running a contest. She has chosen 20 images from this year that were her favorite and has posted them on her blog. The image that receives the most votes between now and January 7th will will a canvas picture. I would LOVE to have that picture! It would be a great birthday present! (My birthday is the 13th! :) ) You can vote once a day until the close date. I would love your help and if you would pass it on to whoever you can think of that would be fantastic! I have a link on my blog Laura Watson Photography or here is the link;

Some fun pictures...

Believe it or not it snowed in Houston! I went and got Lillie at school to come out and play in it. Here is her snow ball. She is always telling me, "Mommy you said it doesn't snow here but it did!" It was an exciting day for us Houstonians. :)

This is one of the rides at Santa Land up in Colorado! It's a Christmas themed amusement park - very cute!

Here is Lillie dressed as a Biblical Character for AWANAS! I don't remember what she was laughing about but this is typical Lillie! I just love her!

This is also typical Lillie. Donese my dear friend and teaching partner is a dancer and gave Lillie some fun outfits. Lillie puts them on all of the time and dances around the house. Eric and I, of course, have to join her and put on our "fancy" clothes!

Where to Start...

Well it has been since IKE, September, since I have last posted. I am off for a break at school and have sworn to myself that I would get caught up on my blog among other things. I included my blog link in my Christmas cards as a way to keep myself accountable on updating my blog. I really enjoy doing it I just don't feel like getting on the computer once I get home from school. :)

Anyway... things are going really well. Lillie has had a good year overall in Pre-K4. We have had some minor issues with Lillie being left out which is really hard on a parent but the issues seem to be resolving themselves so Eric and I are pleased about that. Over Thanksgiving we were able to go to Pueblo, Colorado to visit Eric's sister Katie and her husband Dick and to spend some time in cooler weather. We took Lillie to a place called Santa's Wonderland (I think) and she had a wonderful time. It was the perfect place for her because she was able to ride a lot of the rides on her own. She had a fantastic time. It was very cold but other then that we all enjoyed ourselves!

This Christmas has been a really good one. Lillie is at an age where she can understand Santa and was very excited! She told us she saw Rudolph's nose out her window when she woke up in the middle of the night. She was given many many presents and is having a great time discovering them one at a time. Her favorite things right now are My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop. She also loves Barbies and Princess things. She really is easy to please and is fascinated by toys in general! She is a BIG pretender and very girly! My friend and teammate at school gave her a makeup kit from Libby Lu and she hasn't put it down in the past week. She puts every one's make-up on and then gets all dressed up. We have had to play beauty shop MANY times!

I am going to post some recent pictures to get caught up.... hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with God's love and many blessings!

More Pictures of Ike....

This is the tree that fell in our backyard.

Here is one of the lines for Kroger gas. It is hard to get the real idea from a picture but there are two lines that go about 1/2 a mile down the street just waiting to get in the station.

More of the Kroger gas line.

Our neighbors across the street. This tree fell on the roof of their garage. As it sat on there for a few days their garage sank in a little more.
Please keep praying for those that still do not have electricity and water. We don't realize until it is gone how much we depend on it. We didn't have it for five days and by day four I wasn't in the best of spirits so I can't imagine how those feel that have now not had it for over a week. We thankfully had some cool weather come in right after the storm but it is beginning to get warm up again so nights can be pretty hot. Also people are having to go back to work and school and when you can't get ready or do laundry or pack lunches that can make those tasks even more difficult to prepare for.
