Fourth of July...

I have always really enjoyed the fourth of July. I love that we live in a country that we are free to be who we want to be. My friend and one of Lillie's teachers is about to enter into the mission field and will be living in North Africa. She will be in a location that she is not even allowed to share with many people due to her safety. I appreciate all those who have fought and are currently fighting to maintain our freedom in this country! On the fourth we had mine and Eric's family over for a cook out then a few of us went to watch the fireworks show at the mall. My Grandparents came over as well and my Granddad had on his WWII Veteran hat. The fireworks hadn't started yet so he went over to ask someone in the parking lot if they knew what time they were to begin. I saw the lady stand up from her truck, come up and shake my granddad's hand, and then speak with him. Right before he headed back to us she gave him a hug. When he returned I asked him what she had said and he said that she had thanked him for serving. I am sure it was a proud moment for him as it was for me that he was my Granddad. My cousin Shawn is currently serving as well and I just want to say THANK YOU!

Nannie (Mary Jo - mother in law) and Lillie before the fireworks.

Grandpa (My Dad) and Lillie (I just love this picture!)

And Maddie, our dog, and Lillie right after she got groomed. She had her patriotic bandanna on!

So glad that you're back to posting here!!! I've been checking faithfully and will continue to do so. Lillie looks so GROWN UP. Where did the last 5 years go?

BTW - Cute new background on the blog!
